Jessie Mae MacDonald, 95, St. Peter’s, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009, in Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s.
Born in St. Peter’s, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary Margaret (Finlayson) Morrison.
She was curator of Nicholas Denys Museum for over 25 years.
She was an avid knitter, loved to crochet and to paint. She was a former member of St. Peter’s Home and School, St. Peter’s Community Club and a charter member of the ladies auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47.
She is survived by sons, John Dan (Mary), Robert (Julie), St. Peter’s; daughters, Joyce (Dwight Carter), St. Peter’s, Kathryn ‘Lovey’ (Bill Smith), Sydney, Rita ‘Dolly’ (Lin Carter), Sampsonville, Diane (Cecil Cogswell), Evanston; sister-in-law, Margaret Morrison, Sydney; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Alex, daughter, Margaret, son, Douglas, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, grandson, Danny, brothers, Ted, Lloyd, Melville, Douglas, Howard, sister, Amelia Barrie.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Alex A. Morrison Funeral Services. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 21 from 2-9 p.m. in River Bourgeois Funeral Home, River Bourgeois. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, July 22 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Everett MacDow officiating. Burial to take place in St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery.
