Mr. Robert Lawrence Burke, husband of Joan (Furlong) Burke of Causeway Road, Pocologan, NB, formally of Cains River, NB, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Pocologan NB, at the age of 73. Born in Cains River, NB, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Theresa (Colford) Burke. He was a retired self employed truck driver and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by two daughters, Diana Ashley (Bob) of Maces Bay, NB, Denise Whittier (Carl) of St Stephen, NB three sons, Roy (Marie) Burke of Le Preau, NB, Johnny (Theresa) Burke of Pennfield, NB, Bobby (Sherry) Burke of Musquash, NB, seven Brothers, Larry (Sharon) Burke of LaPreau, NB, George (Edna) Burke of LaPreau, NB, Jerry (Phyllis) Burke of Fredericton, NB, Louis (Peggy) of New River Beach, NB, Loman (Joyce) Burke of New River Beach, NB, Alton (Bonnie) Burke of Fredericton, NB, Richard (Donna) Burke of Cains River, NB, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Herbie Burke.
Mr. Robert Lawrence Burke is resting at St George Funeral Home in St George, with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and at Father A.A. McKinnon Memorial Room in Blackville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville, with Father Vincent Donovan officiating.
