
Garth Wendell Densmore
Densmore, Garth Wendell – 72, Brookfield, passed away on March 19, 2011, at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Wendell and Blanche (Lockhart) Densmore. A long-time member of Knox United Church in Brookfield, Garth enjoyed singing in the John Fisher and Knox United Choirs. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Cobequid Salmon Association as well as the Brookfield Mens Club and Brookfield Curling Club. He served on the Board of Directors of Twin Cities/Farmers Dairy for over 20 years. Garth was a humble man, though strong in certain convictions, and was known as an all-around fun guy. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Weir); sons Wade (Nellie), Brookfield, Blair (Patti), Brookfield; grandchildren Leah, Sarah, Robbie, Alyssa and Ethan; sister, Mary Atwood, Peterborough, Ont.; beloved nieces Jennet (Liam), Glenda, Margo (Germaine), Cindy (Sean); adopted son, Jim. He was predeceased by sisters, Margie and Evelyn Densmore, Edith Harvey; brother Bob Densmore; brothers-in-law, Wally Atwood and Ed Harvey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd from 6 to 9:30pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Memorial Service on Thursday, March 24th at 2pm in Knox United Church, 53 Highway #289, Brookfield, with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment at a later date in the Brookfield Eastside Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knox United Church.
