It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Bob Weldon, on July 21, 2009, on the An Cala Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was the son of the late Thomas and Ada (Cooper) Weldon.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, with a quick wit, sensitive nature, and creative talent for building things. He cherished spending time with family and friends. Athletic by nature, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and darts. Strong-willed and fun-loving, Bob will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him.
Bob is survived by his children, Rhonda Ramsay, Toronto, Sharon Atha (Thomas), Susan Weldon, both of Sydney, Guy Weldon and Andrew Weldon, both of Moose Jaw; his sister, Eva; his brother, Albert, both of Ontario; his seven grandchildren, Jenna, Jessica, Meredith, Jason (Vicki), Austin, Garrett, Keir; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Julia. Bob is also survived by his sisters and brothers–in-law, Greta Feldman, Elvira (Naish) Batten, Art (Chris), Bob (Helen), Aubrey (Dawn), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Lynk), sister, Mabel and his parents.
Visitation will take place Thursday, July 23 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating.
Reception to follow. Interment to take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care Services, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
