Larry Martin
MARTIN, Larry David - 60 of Avondale finally succumbed to his long courageous and hard fought battle with cancer at the Hants Community Hospital. Born in Amherst on April 17, 1950. Larry was the eldest son of Marjorie Mary Martin and the late Edward Francis Martin. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Terry Baird, Amherst; Gerry Martin, Amherst; Carrie Davidson, Amherst; Sherry (Murray Fader) Martin, Avondale; Mary Martin, Amherst; Perry (Melody) Martin, Victoria, BC; Jane Perry, Amherst; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews on both the Martin and Nicholas sides of the family and his loving spouse of 22 years Richard (Seven) Nicholas. Larry was a kind and generous, compassionate and loving person in his own quiet way. He loved his flower and vegetable gardens, mowing and tending the property, enjoying time with our dog Myloh and all our other pets, and the horses, Slic and Badger. A special thank you for the care and support, the dedication and compassion shown by all the medical and other staff who helped guide us through this difficult journey. Individuals too numerous to mention, but; Dr. Hawsegawa and her staff, all the amazing nurses on the 4th floor MDU, the incredibly compassionate nurses and staff on the 8th floor (A&B units), Yvonne and everyone in her dept., the caring staff at Hants Community Hospital, and our family Doctor, Dr. Yoshida and her assistant Liz. Donations in Larry's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the QEII Health Science Center Cancer Dept. Private memorial to be held at a later date.
