It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Coady McKinnon, 70, of Florence. Coady passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Born in Glace Bay, Coady was the son of the late Coady and Jane (Hart) McKinnon.
Coady was employed for many years with Sears in the small engine repair/technical services department as an on-site manager in Ontario. He enjoyed playing this guitar and loved music.
Coady will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Peggy (Devison); sons, Robert, London, Ont., Mark (Maria), Cambridge, Ont; six brothers; seven sisters; three cherished grandchildren, Grace, Heather and Marshall.
Besides his parents, Coady was predeceased by his dearest daughter, Sheila, son-in-law, Paul Morris, daughter-in-law, Linda McKinnon.
In honouring Coady’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation for Coady will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24 at St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. A reception will be in the church foyer, all are welcome.
