Therese Collette
1920 - 2011 - It is with regret that we announce the peaceful passing of Thérèse Collette, on Sunday, March 20th, 2011, following a lengthy illness, at her residence, the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, NB. Born in Sherbrooke, QC, on December 3rd, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and the late Donalda (née: St-Pierre) Collette. Thérèse became a westerner when the family moved to Alberta and experienced the hardships and joys of homesteading, as in riding a pony to school, winter and summer. The family moved to Bouctouche, NB, her father’s home province and worked in the family store. She held the position of accountant at the Université de Moncton, answering to the controller and retired in December 1985. She is survived by two sisters: Jeanne (Laurie) Landry of Collingwood, ON and Helene (John) Forstner of Saint John; one sister-in-law, Muriel Leger-Collette of Moncton as well as ten nieces and nephews in New Brunswick and four in Ontario. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Lucie-Anne and also by one brother, Jean.
Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday, March, 24th, 2011 at 11am. Interment at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
