It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Shirley Hillier regret to announce her passing on Monday July 20, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. She was the daughter of the late Gord and Sue Sealey. She enjoyed working in the nursing profession for many years. Shirley loved to embroider and crochet and we were proud to show off her handywork. She is survived by sons Gordie (Kim) Ontario, Richard (Elana) B.C. and Ronnie Alberta. Nana Cook will be missed by grandchildren Chelsea, Devin, Ben and Clara. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Albert (Hogie) and two daughters in infancy. The family would like to thank all the nurses at the Glace Bay Hospital, nurses and Doctors at the Dialysis and Cancer Units at the Regional Hospital and Palliative Care for the kindness they showed Shirley. A very special thank you to Dr. Spencer for going above and beyond the call of duty. Your caring and kindness to our loved one will not be forgotten. There will be no visitation. Shirley's wish was for her body to go to the Medical Arts Center at Dalhousie University for medical research.
