Marjorie Ethel Jenner (Whipple) born July 8th, 1921; passed away peacefully at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home on Tuesday March 22, 2011, in her 90th year. Loving and faithful wife of 62 years to the late Frank W. D. Jenner, she was the daughter of the late J. Boyd Whipple and Ethel Mae (Watters) Whipple. Marjorie was also predeceased by her daughter Carol Jenner. “Nana” will be lovingly remembered by her son, Douglas Jenner (Anita), her five grandchildren, Alice McGovern (Michael) and Dan Sutton (Melda), Mark Jenner, Melissa Jenner-Mailman (Kevin), Robyn Jenner, as well as great grandchildren, Brandon, Alexis and Portia. She will also be remembered by her two brothers, Ken and Murray and their families. Marj was a caring person with a beautiful friendly smile who could always be seen wearing her favorite pearls. A wonderful homemaker and caring mother who devoted her life to her family spent her younger years in Fairville, growing up on Church Ave. She graduated from Saint John Vocational School and was employed at T.S. Simms Brush Factory and worked for John P. Mooney, as a legal secretary. Before retirement, she and her husband owned and operated the Kitchen Korner on Germain Street. Frank and Marjorie spent many happy retirement years together gardening, cooking, travelling and spending time with their family and their pets. The family wishes to thank the many staff and volunteers at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness. Our sincere gratitude goes out to Marjorie’s long term family physician Dr. Irving and most recently the care she had received at Carleton Kirk by Dr. Grant and the nurses on staff.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
