Kay Gills, 62, 669 Main St., Sydney, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rachel (Donovan) Capstick.
She was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines.
Kay found great enjoyment in music and dance.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Gillis; son, Peter Roberts; stepchildren, Tom, Johnnie, Jacqueline and Donald; grandchildren, Carissa, Corey, Shelly, Ryan, Adam and Destiny. Also surviving are sisters, Helen Serroul, Nina Thomas and Mary MacLennan; brother, Murdoch Capstick.
She was predeceased by sons, Sheldon and Bernard Blinkhorn, sisters, Janie Roberts, Della Shaw and Peggy Morgan, brothers, Patrick, Pete and Michael Capstick.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
