Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2011, Elsie Eleanor Nixon (nee Baker), in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband Ernest Nixon, 1996. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her two sons: Allen, and Ray (Lori) and daughter Patricia (Tish) Janes; grandchildren: Jason Nixon (Kelsey), Heather Nixon, Lisa Little (Steve), Nancy Snedden (Keith), Paul Janes (Kimberly); great-grandchildren: Kali Nixon, Kira and Torin Little, Nathan, Lauren and Evan Best-Janes; sister Elizabeth “Bett” Harris (Phillip) and family of Kent, England; sister-in-law Mabel Nixon and family; special nephew Douglas Payne and family, also a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and then on Sunday from 12 noon - 5 p.m. Funeral service to be held from The Anglican Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at The Field of Honor, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
