Susan Marsh (MacDonald) Hoekstra, 65, of Powell River, B.C., passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2009, after a nine-year battle with cancer.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Henry Blanchard and the late Mary Marsh. She was also predeceased by her stepfather, Gordon ‘Scotchie’ MacDonald.
Susan is survived by her husband, Nick Hoekstra; daughter, Caroline (Jeff); grandson, Carter James; daughter, Jennifer (Mike); her sisters, Nancy Blanchard MacDonald (Andrew MacInnis), Jemseg, N.B. and Nora Fraser (George), New Glasgow and a brother, Stephen MacDonald (Debbie Corkum), Sydney.
