Fleet, Dorothy (Dodie) Frances age 94 passed away peacefully March 19, 2011 at the Gentle Care Seniors’ Boarding Home Yarmouth, NS. Born in Halifax, NS she was the only daughter of the late Robert and Pauline (Lutley) Keddy. She received her education at the Sacred Heart School in Halifax. Following their marriage she and her husband Ralph moved to Yarmouth where she was an employee of the Yarmouth Public Library for several years. She was a member of the Womens’ Auxiliary of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital gift shop. A lover of music and animals she enjoyed playing the organ for family and friends and was a staunch supporter of the SPCA and other community organizations. Dodie was an avid fan of baseball, golf and tennis and in her later years greatly enjoyed watching these sports on TV. She is survived by several cousins in Nova Scotia, Ontario and the United States. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph. Funeral arrangements have been made through Sweeny's Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Yarmouth. There was no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date at the Ritchie Memorial Chapel in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Burial will be in the Fleet family plot in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA or a charity of choice.
