SURETTE, Cecil Martin – 89, Pinkney’s Point, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at home in Pinkney’s Point. Born March 24, 1921 in Pinkney’s Point, he was a son of the late Burt and Theresa (Pothier) Surette. Cecil served in the army and was a peacekeepr in Germany toward the end of WWII, and he was also a lobster fisherman. Cecil was the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by his wife; Vivian, children; Janet (Dan) Majcher, Mir. NB, Yvette Heffernan, Pinkney’s Point, Kevin (Gail) Surette, Mir. NB, Keith (Jane) Surette, Mir. NB; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by 5 brothers and a sister; granddaughter, Sarah Majcher. Visitation took place from 2-4 7-9 Friday (today) with prayers at 8 p.m., in H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Raphael Church, Pinkey’s Point, Father Greg Sampson officiating. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Cancer research. Internment in the St. Raphael Parish Cemetery at a later date.
