Geense, Catharina Wilhelmina – 92, Parkland Estates, Truro, formerly of Lower Truro, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in den Helder, the Netherlands, she was a daughter of the late Leonardis and Gesina H. (Thomassen) Koppen. After graduating from high school, she worked in a summer resort on the island of Texel. She joined her husband in Canada in 1949 and eventually moved to Truro in 1953. She was a member of First United Church. She also enjoyed gardening and all kinds of hand work. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dirk C. Geense; son, Paul (Betty); grandsons, Steven (Grace) and Robert. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment at a later date.
