1925 - 2011 - Gallagher Ridge - Roy J. Gautreau, 85, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 28, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Amherst, NS on August 11, 1925, he was the son of the late Tilmon Gautreau and Eva LeBlanc. Roy will sadly be missed by his five sons, Jim (Betty) of Saint-Antoine, Edmond (Dorinda), Francis both of Gallagher Ridge, Andrew of Cannan Station, David (Cécile) of Grande-Digue ; two daughters, Jane Fisher (Gérald) of Saint-Paul de Kent, Anne Ambrose (Jeff) of New Scotland and one daughter in law Betty-Lou Gautreau of Havelock; his half brother, Arthur (late Virginia) of Gallagher Ridge; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren, also several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife, Jessie Goguen and his son Frederick.
Visitations will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Rd. in Moncton on Thursday, March 31st, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. At the family’s request there will be no Funeral Service. A short prayer will be held at 8:45 pm by Pastor Jack Gautreau, nephew of Roy. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
