Elsie Raworth
1919 - 2011 - Elsie Jean Raworth (Fall) of Pine Glen, NB passed over at Golden Years Estates on March 27, 2011 at the age of 91. Elsie was born in Moncton, NB on August 27, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Heber and Alice (Lutes) Fall. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of almost 70 years (James) Gray Raworth. She was a devoted mother to; daughters Edith Hamilton (late Roger) of Oromocto, Carol of Riverview, sons; James Gray Jr. (Esse Peterson) of Princeton, Mass., David (Betty Grant) of Niagara Road, Donald (Wanda) of Dartmouth, NS, Kenneth (Rita Martin) of Riverview, Gerald (Evelyn) Shenstone and Tim (Wendy) of Niagara Road. Mom has 24 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Elsie has two surviving brothers, Gordon of Moncton and Heber (Adeline) of Riverview, along with many nieces and nephews and Ken Stevens. Although very active in raising her eight children in a rural setting throughout her adult years Mom was well known as an accomplished piano and accordion player, also possessing a fine singing voice. Her piano playing skills were still of a level that she played in a church service setting as late as age 90. Elsie was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and a 40-year member of the Pythian Sisters, attaining some of the highest ranks. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate workers at "Golden Years" for their excellent care given to our mom.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Saxby Temple #35 Pythian Sisters will be providing a memorial service at 6:45 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
