Rodney Allison “Tibby†Morse Sr., 71, Truro, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side on Saturday, July 25 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Laurie and Rita (Gross) Morse. Tibby moved to Toronto in 1957 at the age of 20, where he met his wife, Kathleen. He lived there for more than 40 years before retiring as a silkscreen, offset printer and moving back home to Truro.
He was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, Truro. Tibby was an avid hockey and baseball fan. He loved cheering on the Truro Bearcats and Toronto Blue Jays. He was an extremely kind and generous person, a true friend to whomever he met, never complained and always looked out for the well being of others.
Tibby’s life was his family and extended church family, whom he cherished and loved very much. Surviving are his loving wife, the former Kathleen (Clyke); son’s, Rodney Jr., Truro and Shane, Toronto; Grandson-in-heart, Jake Smith, Truro; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from noon until time of memorial service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 28 in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Brother Bill Bezanson conducting and Brother Phillip McLennan speaking.
Burial will take place in Robie Street Cemetery, followed by a reception in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Victorian Order of Nurses or Palliative Care at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
