Ruby Bethune Brown, Truro, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at her home.
Born in Murray River P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Katherine Ella (Clow) Reynolds. Ruby was a secretary in various places for many years. In her younger years she was active in curling, golfing and loved to trout fish with her husband Ross. She also loved sewing and crocheting. She grew roses that she entered in the exhibitions and won many ribbons. She was active with the Bedford Baptist Church for many years and also was a member and worked for the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary at the Colchester Hospital for many years. She had a very quick wit and will always be remembered by her family as a very private person.
Ruby is survived by sister, Helen Johnston, Murray River, P.E.I.; sixteen nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Harold Ross Brown; sisters, Peg Chaisson, Muriel Vessey, Jean Herring, Edythe White; brother, George Reynolds.
Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, followed by funeral service at 2 p.m., all in Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home, Montague, P.E.I. Interment will be held in the Murray River Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Ruby’s memory may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Auxiliary or to the SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St. Truro and Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home, Montague P.E.I.
