Works, Dorothy Winnifred (MacAloney) – 80, Lower Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Chesley McNutt and Gladys MacAloney. A loving mother and grandmother, Dorothy’s life was devoted to her family. She is survived by daughter, Wendy (Greg) Bruens, Edmonton, Alta.; son, Darren (Pam) Works, Lower Truro; daughter, Christine (Charles) Chalmers, Debert; grandchildlren, Justin, Brianna, Chelsea, Jensen, Jaeden; sister, Helen Lennerton, Old Barns; brother, Frank McNutt, Lower Truro.
“God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So he closed his arms around you,
And whispered come to me.
You didn’t deserve what you went through,
So he took you home to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
For he only takes the best.”
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Lower Truro Community Hall on Kent Road Wednesday, March 30th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm to share in her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro.
