Beulah "B" MacLean - INVERNESS/NEW GLASGOW – Beulah "B" MacLean, RN, 88, New Glasgow, formerly of Inverness, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Monday, March 28, 2011 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born and raised in Inverness. She graduated from Glace Bay General Hospital School of Nursing and nursed at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, predominately in Operating Room for 40 plus years. She was an active member of St. Matthew’s United Church, Inverness for many years, serving as an Elder, Organist and Choir member. Beulah will be remembered for her willingness to serve her Lord and Church. In 1999, she moved to New Glasgow to be closer to her family. She greatly enjoyed being part of her granddaughters’ lives and becoming Nanny “B” to her granddaughters’ friends and Emily. In this new chapter of her life, she adopted a new church family at Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend – a lady who was more willing to give than receive,
Surviving are her cherished son and daughter-in law, Bradley and Heather, Riverton; treasured granddaughters Chantelle and Kola; numerous nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law and, brothers-in-law.
She was predeceased by her best friend and husband, Edwin; many family members.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday in St. Matthew’s United Church, Inverness where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Maggie Plant officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Strathlorne, when the sun shines bright and the warm breezes blow.
