Johanna Orchieson, 77, of Seaview Manor, and formerly of Douglas Avenue, Glace Bay, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Anastasia (Briand) Martell.
Johanna used to do volunteer work at Victoria Haven Nursing Home and was always known for her hardy laugh and great sense of humour.
She is survived by her son, Jamie (Barbara) Orchieson, Glace Bay; sister, Phil Martell, Glace Bay; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Hanna, Glace Bay, Christopher, Dartmouth.
Johanna was predeceased by her husband, John Orchieson, brother, Johnny and a sister, Annie Mae.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home in Glace Bay.
As an expression of sympathy for Johanna, memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
