At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, of Norma J. Newson (Ayers), age 95 years.
Norma trained and nursed in Charlottetown and served in South Africa as a nurse in the African Campaign during the Second World War.
Beloved wife of Freeman Newson. Dear mother of Jim (Betty) and Patricia Norris. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Heather Lizama (Malcolm), Joel, Jolene, Jody and Jordan Norris; by exchange student granddaughter, Emilie Noteboom; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Josiah and Eva (Hyde) Ayers, and by her siblings Miriam Duff, Ruth McCutcheon, Fran Boyles, Reginald Ayers and George Ayers.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1:30 p. m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Newson Pioneer Cemetery, Cornwall, or Trinity United Church.
