Norma Viola Cook
May 24, 1920 – July 23, 2009
Norma Viola (Williams) Cook of Prince Albert, SK passed away at Herb Bassett Home on July 23, 2009 at 8:30 pm. Norma was born in Waldren, SK on May 24, 1920 to Norman and Sarah “Sadie” Jane (Wyatt) Williams. The family moved to Kirkwall in 1925. On August 10, 1943 Norma married George Hayward Cook in Mossy Glen School. They farmed southeast of Garrick and raised a family of five children. Norma went out to work and later moved to Prince Albert, SK where she met her second husband Thomas LaLiberte. Norma was a very kind-hearted, hard-working lady who helped to raise many children in and around the Prince Albert area. Anyone who entered her home was made to feel welcome and was offered a cup of tea and a meal. Norma leaves to mourn her passing her children; Irwin Cook of Choiceland, SK, Rosalie (Eric) Bear of MFN, SK, Clifford Dale (Lucy Aps) Cook of Weyburn, SK, Dennis (Faye Mamer) Cook of Prince Albert, SK and Ivan (Gloria) Cook of Prince Albert, SK; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; her sisters Audrey LeLoupe and Iris Henderson; several nieces and nephews plus several extended family members. Norma was predeceased by her parents; two brothers Clarence and Irwin Williams; her sister Joan Rose; her brothers-in-law Leo LeLoupe and Floyd Henderson; her sisters-in law Muriel (Milbourn) Williams and Alberta (Marsh) Williams; her daughter-in-law Yvonne Marjory (Mitchell/Stower) Cook; her nephew Colin Williams; and one grandchild. Nan will be sadly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Muskoday First Nation Band Hall with Reverend Father Chris Harper officiating. Interment will be held at Garrick Cemetery.
