GLADYS LEONORA MYERS (WOOD)
Gladys was born to Harry and Leonora Wood at Diebolt, SK on December 12, 1918 and passed away at the age of 92 in Moose Jaw, SK on March 29, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Glady was born in the year of the great flu epidemic. She came with her family to the Pambrun and later Vanguard District in 1920. She attended public school at Turkey Track School and high school in Vanguard. She came to Moose Jaw in 1940/41 to business school and never left. Glady was employed in various places of business starting with C.M Nixon Agencies, Sask Woolen Mills, Canadian Legion, spent 20 years with Sears Canada and lastly with Carousel Costumes Moose Jaw for 10 years finally retiring in July 1999. Glady was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Vanguard and transferred to the Moose Jaw Lodge when she moved here, becoming a life member. She married school mate Bernard Gale Myers on December 12, 1948 in Moose Jaw, SK. She was a loving mother to sons Gale (Mary) and Cameron (Debra); daughter Grace (Wayne); grandson Dean (Tammy); loving Gram to Brennen, Derrick, Chris, Matthew, Jerri-Lynn, Melissa, Kyle, Brady, Dave, Alisa and Sharon; loving Great-Gram to Keanna, Anakin, Drake, Brooke, Dylan, Rebekah, Nathan, Daniel, Tegan, Sid, Derrick, Marlee and Chloe. She is also survived by her brother Spencer and sister Dorothy. Aunt to many nieces and nephews and best friend to many. Glady is predeceased by her husband Bernard in February 1988, her parents and two brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at Minto United Church on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:30pm. Gary Johnson will officiate. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 7-9pm at W.J. Jones and Son Chapel. Gladys will be laid to rest beside her husband Bernard at Rosedale Cemetery.
