DIMOCK, Doris Mae - 83, of Pereaux, Kings County, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 25, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Pereaux, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (Bennett) Cogswell. She had been a school teacher in Gibson Woods and later dedicated her time as a homemaker. She was a member of the Pereaux Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years, was a former Sunday School Superintendant and had been involved with the Lola B. Eaton Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Glooscap Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy, Pereaux; four sisters, Jean (Howard) McCormick, Canning; Anna Bennett, Pereaux; Lorraine (Maynard) Guptill, West Brooklyn; Goldie (Curt) Gerritse, Pereaux; three brothers, Charles “Buzz”, New Hampshire; Paul (Mary), Habitant; John (Yvette), Wolfville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Norman “Norm” Dimock. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Pereaux Baptist Church, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent and Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private family burial took place in the Pereaux Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Pereaux Baptist Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Carey-Me Fund (in support of palliative care).
