Henry “Harry” B. Masters, 84, of The Veterans’ Health Centre, Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday evening, March 31, 2011. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Robert and Edith (Ward) Masters. Harry was retired from the CNR with 22 years service. He joined the Canadian Army in 1945 and served in the Korean Conflict with the PPCL Infantry. Harry was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6 and enjoyed socializing with his family and friends.
Harry will be sadly missed by his daughter, Pamela Masters, Moncton; stepson, Gordon Bingham, ON; grandchildren, Trina Masters-Melanson, Moncton, Tracy and Jeff, both of Halifax and Tim of Ottawa, ON; sisters, Kathleen Deware, Moncton and Audrey Gagne (Marcel), Montreal; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Coates) (1993); sister, Pat (Patricia) and one brother, Bob (Robert).
In keeping with Harry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private family service to be held. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the staff of the Veterans’ Health Centre for the care and compassion shown to Harry during his stay at the residence. In Harry’s memory, donations to the Veterans’ Health Centre, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of choice would be appreciated.
