Mary Baigent (nee Folk) of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 with family and friends at her side. Mary was born January 13, 1918 in Billium, SK. She moved to Regina, SK in 1944 and worked at the Rainbow Laundry. She met and married Donald Baigent in 1951 and they moved to Moose Jaw. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She spent her life enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary loved playing cards with her neighbours. A favorite pastime was sitting with a cup of tea and doing a search a word or piecing together a puzzle. Her door was always open to family and friends, the welcome mat was out, coffee was on and lunch was on the table. Mary was a loving, kind woman who touched us all.
Left to cherish Mary's memory is her loving family: son Howard (Gail) Baigent; daughters Pauline (Brian) Yamniuk, Gladys (Brian) Therens, Janice Baigent (Okechukwu); grandchildren Tracey (Wes) Kornelson, Laurel Yamniuk, Chad (Vanessa) Baigent, Cory (Pam) Yamniuk, Ryan Therens, Krista (Cory) Olafson, Alia Aluma-Baigent, Akia Aluma-Baigent; great-grandchildren Brittany, Derrian, Kolton, Abby, Kurtis, Madison, Dylan, Tristan, Destiny, Kyle, Phoenix and Aspen; sister Anne (Anselm) Beler; sister-in-law Antoinette Folk; her extended family Ken (Gloria) Dean, Dianne Munroe, Arlin Aspinal, Ponziano Aluma, Ellen Whitcroft, Mark (Jackie) Whitcroft, Hannah Whitcroft and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Mary is predeceased by her husband Donald (1986); son Ronald (1972); parents Mathias and Margaret Folk; brothers Mathias, Paul, Tony, Martin and Tommy; sisters Barbara, Madalena, Helen, Veronica and Theresa. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St. Father Carlos Jimenez will preside. The family invites you to the hall for fellowship and lunch. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Church of Our Lady.
