WYMAN, Edith M. - Edith passed away peacefully at the Windsor Elms Village on April 4, 2011. Edith was born December 11, 1910 in Truro and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (Cross) Kent. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold, sister, Myrtle and her loving husband, Percy. Edith was a primary teacher in Yarmouth County for 28 years, and lived a life of quiet dignity that saw her witness the Halifax Explosion and man walking on the moon. She was an avid knitter, homemaker, and reader, but her passion was in her flower gardens, a regular springtime showpiece in Arcadia for years. Edith is survived by her son, Michael, his wife, Barbara, Windsor; her grandson, Christopher (Lisa) and great grandchildren, Hailey and Zachary, Calgary; her granddaughter, Sarah (Nick) Morris and great grandsons, Luke and Benjamin, Sackville; her grandson, Scott, Dartmouth and her grandson, Peter (Natasha), Calgary; also long time special friends from Arcadia; as well as nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Following Edith’s wishes, there was a graveside committal service held Friday, April 8 at 2 p.m. in Brooklyn Cemetery, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., Rev. Beverly Densmore officiated. A reception followed in the Brooklyn Hall, 200 Brooklyn Rd. Donations in memory of Edith may be made to the S.P.C.A. or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
