DOUCETTE, Leonie Elizabeth – 85, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 31, 1925 in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Lezime J. and Therese M. (Doucette) LeFave, having been raised by her late stepmother, Augusta Surette. Leonie was a homemaker and she loved quilting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her children, Theresa (James) Dulong, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau; Sylvestre (Sylvia) Doucette, Belleville; Edna Doucette and Margaret (Malcolm) Madden, both of Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau; Lester Doucette, Berwick; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. Also surviving are a brother, Jules (Barbara) LeFave, New Minas, and a sister, Anne-Marie Comeau, Belliveau’s Cove. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Doucette and sisters, Loretta d’Entremont and Anita Wamboldt. Visitation took place from 2-4 and7-9 Friday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both in H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. from Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Wieslaw Papuga officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
