It is with the greatest of sadness that we the family of Sylvia Thompson announce her passing. Sylvia left us on July 29, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Sylvia was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Annie (Wall) Ratchford formerly of Vulcan Avenue.
Sylvia will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Peter Thompson; her loving children, Nicole Feltham and Billy (April) Feltham. She is survived by her siblings, Sharon (Wayne) Miller, Ontario, Dougie (Brenda) Ratchford, Richard Ratchford, Brian (Viola) Ratchford and Darlene Ratchford. Sylvia left behind two beautiful granddaughters, Chloe and Ella Feltham.
She was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Ratchford, and sister-in-law, Betty Ratchford.
Sylvia was a loving family woman, who lived for her granddaughters. Her passion outside of family was doing her crafts. She was a very talented women who spent a lot of her time making things for others. Sylvia had a wonderful sense of humour and a beautiful spirit. The stroke of midnight on New Years Eve will never be the same.
Cremation has taken place. The visitation will be held at the S.W Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
