Ron Gottfriedson, 69, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops following a brief illness.

He was predeceased by his wife Joan.

He leaves his children Annette, Nadine, Andrea, Muriel, Ron, Renee and Daniel, along with his stepchildren, Joyce, Della, Barbara, Kim, Ace and Dee, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters and many close friends.

Born in Kamloops, the son of Gus and Mildred Gottfriedson, he lived most of his life in Cache Creek with his wife Joan.

In his early years, Ron grew up ranching on the Kamloops Indian Reserve under his parents' guidance. At a young age, he became strongly influenced by his father's participation in the rodeo world and started to rodeo himself as a saddle bronc rider and team-roper. Ron had a passion for horses and horse training. He won many awards in the rodeo world. He was also an amazing athlete partaking in sports like hockey, baseball and golf.

A Wake will be held at the Gottfriedson Ranch on Paul Lake Road from Friday, April 8th to the morning of April 10th when he will be transported to Cache Creek for the final viewing on Perry Road.

His Funeral will be at the Cache Creek Community Hall in Cache Creek on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a meal.
