In Memory of Raymond McVicar who passed away one year ago today.
Dear Ray:
I’ve guided your footsteps and taught you how to walk,
And in your tender growing years I taught you how to talk.
I held you close, in fear you’d fall when climbing up the stairs.
Then I’d take your hand in mine and help you say your prayers.
Some may think I have forgotten when at times they see me smile,
But they little know the heartache lies with me all the while.
