It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, brother and uncle.
Kenneth David MacQuarrie, 61, of Baddeck Inlet died April 8, 2011, at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Kenny was born Oct. 1, 1949, in Upper Middle River, son of hte late Dave and Phoebe MacQuarrie. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lodge #35, Philae Shrine Temple, Arm of Gold Shrine Club, U.A. of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #56 and Nova Scotia Ground Water Association. Kenny owned and operated Baddeck Plumbing & Heating Ltd. for over 35 years serving a vast area of Cape Breton Island.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dawn MacDonald; son, Dana James; brother, William (Joy); sisters, Annabelle (Neil) Hallett, Marion (Harold) MacQuarrie/Buckley; nephews, Danny, Preston, Liam; nieces, Brenda and Debbie.
Kenny was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Scott and his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, Tuesday, April 12 from 4-8 p.m. A masonic service at 7 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Kenny’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 in Greenwood United Church, with Rev. Karen Lynch officiating. A reception to follow. A private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Donations in Kenny’s memory can be made to Victoria County Memorial Hospital or a charity of choice.
