It is with great sadness that we the family of Mary “Lucy” (Cormier) Noonan of Middle Musquodoboit, formerly of Whitney Pier, announce her passing on May 18, 2017 at the age of 87. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Julie (Doucette) Cormier. Surviving are her husband, Francis Noonan; daughter, Catherine MacDonald, Toronto; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; step daughters, Shelly Noonan, Lynn (Dave) Ford, and Arlene (Glen) Boyd; siblings, Eddie Cormier, Cobourg, ON, Marie (Len) Solomon, Kitchener, ON, Jeanette (Steve) Zagwolski, Bramalea, ON, Gerard (Denise), Coxheath and Dola (Leon) Colford, Whitney Pier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Michael and Paul; brother, Harold; sisters-in-law, Helen and Georgette.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of life to be held on Saturday morning, June 24, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church in Whitney Pier with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. A reception will be held following mass downstairs in the Church. Interment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local SPCA or Holy Redeemer Building Fund.
