SKINNER, George “Kent” – 79 King Street, Digby, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born September 15, 1931 in Kentville, he was a son of the late Archibald and Marjorie (Jeffery) Skinner. George, a beloved husband and father, worked for CP Railroad (D.A.R. line, mainly in Digby) for 37 years, and he was an avid sports fan. Surviving are his loving wife, Dianne (Silver) Skinner, along with their two sons, Jeff (Anne), Gravenhurst, ON, and Greg (Antonella), Weston, FL, as well as grandchildren, Andrea, David and Joey, a great-grandson, Peyton and a sister, Gwen (John) Irvine, Kentville. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David and a sister, Mary Regan. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A private graveside memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
