It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother, Linda Ann MacDonald, after a courageous battle of cancer at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, on Aug. 1, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born in Sydney, May 29, 1952, and was one of seven children. She grew up on Mira Road and worked at Wal-Mart for many years. Linda’s happiest times were those spent with her family, friends and especially her four grandchildren. She will be remembered always for her kind heart, warm smile and caring spirit.
Linda is survived by her four children, Sonya (Terry), Karen (David), Arlene (Jason) and Michael (Patricia); husband, Mike; her mother, Doris (Reid) Gaudet; brothers, Wayne, Barry, Kevin, Darren; sisters, Brenda and Janet Spencer; and four grandchildren, Michael, Dylan, Samantha and Faith.
Linda was predeceased by her father Maurice Gaudet.
Visitation for Linda will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney, 539-3002. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 in Immaculate Heart Church, George Street, with Fr. Gerald Dunphy officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Brick Yard Road, Mira Provincial Park.
