It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of our dear brother and uncle Gerard Brown on June 19, 2017 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines on January 3, 1941 he was the son of the late Charles J. and Laura (MacMullin) Brown.
In his earlier years he was a member of the Seafarers International Union having sailed on the Great Lakes.
He is survived by his sisters, Mae (Cyril) Musgrave and Charlene Mason; nephews, Stephen Musgrave, Blair and Jamie Brown; nieces, Shawna Hudson, Suzanne Noonan, Shannon and Kathryn Mason and Amanda Brown; great nephews, Dylan Noonan and Regan Hudson, and great niece, Dayna Noonan.
He was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Blair; nephew, Shawn Musgrave, and brother-in-law, Lloyd Mason.
Cremation has taken place, no visitation or service as per Gerard’s request.
The family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to Neil and Rita MacMullin for the exceptional kindness they showed to Gerard over the years.
