Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Complex, Eliza Churchill (June 18, 1915 - July 30, 2009), age 94 years. Leaving to mourn five daughters: Valeda, Barb (Bob), Portugal Cove, Catherine (Kay) Codner (Arch), Torbay, Harriett Alcock (Rev. Gary), Ontario, Mildred Youden (Jim), CBS; two sons: Cyril (Ann), Edward (Pam); nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Ethel Dinn, St. John’s, Gladys Codner, Torbay, Mary Ann Bugden (Paradise); one brother Gerald Miller (Portugal Cove); two sisters-in-law: Maureen Miller, Maisie Miller, Portugal Cove; son-in-law Kevin Putt, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at her family residence, 31 Farm Road, Portugal Cove on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Lawrence Anglican Church Building Fund.
