It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Eugene Osmond announces his sudden passing on Saturday July 1, 2017 at his residence in Port aux Basques at the age of 60 years. Gerald was the son of the late John and Ann Osmond, he was also predeceased by his precious daughter Sasha, sister Alice Tapp (George), brothers; Albert Osmond (Vera), Emmanuel George Osmond, Harold Osmond (Shirley), Father and Mother in law Pierce and Catherine Osmond, brothers in laws; Darrell Osmond, Terry Osmond, Nelson Osmond, Harvey Parsons. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Una of 40 years. A proud dad and poppy, he will always be sadly missed by his children; James of Halifax NS, John, Jason, Josh, Jestina and Pierce all of Port aux Basques, grandchildren; Sasha, Amber and Lucas. He will always remain in the hearts of his siblings; Susie Parsons, Rachel (Walter) Osmond all of Port aux Basques, Nora (Isaac) Patey of Cape Ray, Yvonne (Cliff) Short, Caroline (Eli) Ingram all of Port aux Basques, Elias (Bernice) Osmond of Cape Ray, sister in law Laura Osmond and brother in law Charlie Osmond both of Port aux Basques and large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. To honour Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family received friends on Wednesday July 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. A celebration of Gerald’s life took place on Thursday July 6, 2 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church in Cape Ray, officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey, internment will take place at a later date.
