NICKERSON, Robert Kemp Turner – 91, Woods Harbour, Heaven has gained another angel with the passing of Robert on July 5, 2017, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surround by his sister and nieces. Born June 29, 1926, in Woods Harbour, he was the second son of Herbert and Bessie (Turner) Nickerson. Robert worked 2 years in Toronto and then returned home. He did some blacksmith work and after the Scotia Marine plant opened, he worked there and the plants that followed for 33 years. Robert was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and rarely missed a Sunday or weekly service. He is survived by his sisters Dorothy Kumchy, Sarnia, ON; Philippa Cranton Belleisle, Annapolis County; nieces, Dorothy, Pamela, Carolyn, Andrea; nephews, Parker, Mathew, Herbert; great nephews, Robert, Cole, Ben, Mitchell, James, Daniel; great nieces, Jennifer, Katelyn, Karen, Michelle, Melissa; great-great nephews, Immanuel, Matthew, Cohen, Logan; and great-great niece, Myanna. They all had a great love and respect for their dear Uncle Robert. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Herbert and William. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness shown to Robert over the years, with a special thanks to Gregory, Russell, Crystal, and Pastor Phil. There was a visitation held, Friday, 7-9 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service took place Saturday, July 8, 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Woods Harbour, with Pastor Phil Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery, Woods Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to the Woods Harbour Calvary Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
