It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Joan Frances Penney at the age of 82 years passed on Friday, July 7, 2017 after battling with dementia for the last number of years. Predeceased by her parents, James and Louise Escott; her siblings Marg, Shirl, Jim, Beth and Gerry; father and mother-in-law, Alex and Mary Penney; sisters-in-law Loretta (Ron) Rosiland and her brothers-in-law Ron (Dolores) and Doug. Leaving to mourn with warm memories are her husband and soulmate Douglas; her children, Debbie (Greg), Beverly (Ed), Dougie (Laurie Ann), Alex (Deanne), Barry (Shelly), Sandra (Derrick) and Gerry (Karen); her grandchildren, Darcy, Melissa, Jamie, Kayla, Jeremy, Alexander, Derrick, Zachery, Stephanie, Jessica, Emily, Barry and Ben as well as her great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Mark, Hailey, Amber, Madison, Jett, Mason, Jase and special baby on the way, Brianna. Joan is also remembered by her siblings, Loretta, Edward (Bev), Louise (Bill) and Carolann (Fred); her in-laws, Richard (Liz), Dallas and Roger along with other family members. We are overcome with sadness at her passing, yet we celebrate the life she lived and reflect on the good times and all she sacrificed for our family. Family was her life and she reaped many years of joy watching who her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were becoming. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Clare's 6 West for their care and compassion. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home. Visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from St. Teresa's Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Joan's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
