The Reverend Maj. Gary Tonks, New Glasgow passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Gary is survived by his wife Norma (MacCharles); his daughter Wanda, Riverton; his son Shaun, Calgary; his brother John (Sharon and children), Great Village; sister-in-law Patricia Workman, Antigonish and brother-in-law Morris MacCharles, Port Alberni, B.C.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Gladys Tonks.
Visitations will be held from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm both on Tuesday and Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell. The Masonic Lodge will conduct a service on Tuesday at 6:30 at the Church in Hopewell. The Royal Canadian Naval Association, Admiral Murray Branch will conduct a service on Wednesday at 6:30 at the Church in Hopewell. His funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Thursday from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Westville. Arrangements are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
