It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother, and dear friend, Blaise Brown, on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born in Pleasant Bay, N.S., he was the son of the late John Neil and Margaret Jane (Brown) Brown.
Blaise was a central figure within the Talbot House community in Frenchvale, over the past number of years, and was able to influence many others throughout their journey to recovery. He was well known for his creative abilities as a painter, poet, lyricist and photographer. He was a graduate of NSCC Marconi Campus, and while there, created a mural depicting ‘Life in Cape Breton’.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, Liam Brown (Rose Dunphy); nephews, Avery and Aidan; niece, Adrianne; as well as Rev. Paul Abbass, and his extended family at Talbot House.
A private family service and burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Talbot House 1769 Frenchvale Rd., Frenchvale, N.S., B2A 4E2.
