Charles August Leger

Charles August Leger of Villa Providence (formerly of St-Joseph) passed away at his residence on April 13, 2011 at the age of 85. Born in St-Joseph, he was the son of the late Lucien and Evangeline (LeBlanc) Leger. He started his profession as a tailor with his father at a young age and then continued his career at Tip Top tailors for 35 years and many evenings at home. His favorite pass time was quilting and gardening. He was choir director for St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church for many years and was a member of many choirs. He is survived by his four daughters, Huguette (Laurel) Cyr of Moncton, Francine (Gerard) Albert of Caraquet, Pauline Leger (Helen Ringer) of Edmonton and Louise (John) Lavoie of Shediac Bridge, two sons, Luc (Lucia) Leger of Moncton and Rodrigue Leger (Micheline) of St-Joseph, one sister, Oliva (late Edgar) LeBlanc of Shediac, two brothers, Joseph-Edouard Leger of St-Joseph and Pere Guy Leger c.s.c of Moncton, seven grandchildren: Anne, Josée, Ghislain, Karine, Kristine, Melanie and Simon, one great granddaughter Peyton and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne, one daughter-in-law Kimberly, and one sister Lydianne and by five brothers Alban, Paul-Eudore, Leonard, Heribert and Lorenzo.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Rte La Vallee, Memramcook on Thursday, April 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday, April 15 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook church, St-Joseph on Friday, April 15 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, candles would be appreciated.
