John (Jack) Ivan Frizzell

John (Jack) Ivan Frizzell
October 8, 1925 - July 7, 2017
We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear Father and Grandfather, Jack Frizzell at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He left this world peacefully with family at his side. Jack was born in Truro. He was the son of the late John Alexander (Sandy) Frizzell and the late Charlotte (Works) Frizzell. He was a proud veteran having served in the Canadian Airforce during the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the Freemasons. As a longtime resident of the Truro area, after marrying Kay, Jack called North River and Valley home for much of his life. His work with the local Property Assessment office however, took him all over Colchester County and he happily made friends and acquaintances all over the county throughout his many years. Jack loved people and was always happy to have a chat whether people whose property he might be visiting with or those he would meet about town. In retirement, Jack spent many early mornings having coffee with friends and typically at least one night a week could be found at a local card party. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kay) Frizzell (Dunn) as well as his siblings Reta Williams (the late Donald), Joyce Giberson (the late Perley) and brother, Lloyd, who was killed in combat in the Second World War. He is survived by his son Ray Frizzell (Jeffrey Chittick), Dartmouth, grandsons Spencer and RJ. as well as several cherished nieces and nephews and Kay’s two sisters Sue Brenton (the late Kent) and Frances Archibald (the late Charles). Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring team in the Palliative Care unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre as well as the caring team at Parkland, Truro. At Jack’s request there will be no service of any kind. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the CEHHC in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro where on-line condolences may be made at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
