Freda Allene Hanna (nee VanIderstine) died peacefully on Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Freda was born in St. Peter’s Bay, P.E. and moved with her parents to Vancouver, British Columbia at an early age. During the war years, she met and married John Desbrisay Hanna and together they raised three children Chris, Laurie and Todd Hanna and enjoyed life in Vancouver with a large group of family and friends. She leaves behind her son Chris (Barb), daughter Laurie (Kevin), and grandchildren Lauren, Caroline, Alexandra, Cameron, Connor and Justin, and great-grandchildren Stella, Baker and Roscoe, as well as relatives in the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island. Freda had an abiding love for Prince Edward Island and her farm, so it is fitting that her life journey ended there in the 150th year since Canada’s Confederation. We will miss you Mom and Nana. A service will take place at a later date in Surrey, B.C. Completion of arrangements entrusted to the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home.
