It is with great sadness and loss that the family of Amy Scanlon-House announces her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Sunday, July 16th, 2017 after a long illness, at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Alexander; son and her pride and joy, Ian (Erin) Genneaux; step-children Jeffrey (Carrie) House, and Jennifer House (Robert Patey); step-grandchildren Logan and Chase; mother Gloria; brother Dan (Dorcas); sisters Ann (Melv) Ryan, Leona (Gordon) Wabasse, Helen (Tom) Hamlyn, and Sonya (Jeremy) Simms; mother-in-law Helen House; sisters-in-law Marion (Derek) Hicks, Christine (Bill) Greene, and Pam (Dwayne) Coish; brothers-in-law Cameron (Alma) House and Warren (Elaine) House; as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Leo Scanlon, grandparents Dominic and Jane Scanlon, Frank and Evelyn Murphy, and father-in-law Clan House. Amy was born December 30, 1962 in Flowers Cove, with an infectious smile and sunny disposition; the second child of Leo and Gloria Scanlon. She spent her early years in Eddies Cove West before moving to Port Saunders at the age of seven years. Amy had many talents: hairdresser, carpenter, hunter, photographer, seamstress, crafter and painter...just to name a few. She worked as a salesclerk at House's Esso for 18 years. Visitation took place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders, Monday and Tuesday from where the family service was held on Tuesday at 7:45 pm followed by the funeral service on Wednesday, July 19 at 2:00 pm with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove, with Father Raj officiating. Family and friends may leave messages of condolence, donations to St. Joseph's Church or sign the guest book by visiting the website at www.fillatre.ca. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd, Port au Choix.
