HOARE, Bertha Abigail – 85, Northwood Manor, Halifax, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, July 20, 2017, at Northwood. Born in East Mountain, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Alice (MacRae) Hoare. She resided at Northwood from 1996 until the time of her death. Bertha is survived by her sister, Phyllis Myers, Dartmouth; nephews, Gregory (Louise) Myers and their son, Jason; Rodney (Karen) Myers and their daughters, Kristin and Kaitlin. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Frances. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the nurses, staff and volunteers at Northwood for their compassionate care and thoughtfulness throughout the years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations to Northwood Care Centre or charity of choice are welcomed.
