It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the passing of Gena Marie Clarke Kanne on July 26, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by her loving family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Gena was a kind and loving person, who was always taking care of others needs and took pride and making her family happy, especially her brother, Ted; niece, Brooke; nephews, J.T. and Logan.
Gena was employed with Stream for almost 20 years and we are sure she will be missed by her many friends and co-workers. Gena enjoyed swimming, was a member of the Mustang Club and enjoyed the many trips made with her husband, Michael, while he was trucking long haul.
Gena is survived by her loving husband, Michael Kanne; parents, Ted and Anita Clarke; brother, Teddy; sister, Beth (Arthur) Martell; niece, Brooke; nephews, T. J. and Logan.
She will be sorely missed by her mother-in-law, Marilla; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Chad) Flynn, Ann Marie Kanne; as well as her many aunt, uncles and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. with a memorial to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating, all taking place at the T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS; 902-849-4199.
